Trigger points are tiny areas of irritation (knots) that form within strained bands of muscle tissue and typically refer pain to other areas. It is common to locate trigger points in contracted muscles that are being treated by deep tissue therapy. Deep tissue therapy is designed to return the body to a state of ease and balance by lengthening the contracted muscles and allowing them to relax.
Trigger points are known to cause headaches, neck and jaw pain, low back pain, symptoms of carpal tunnel [carpal tunnel syndrome?] and much more. But with appropriate massage treatment, many problems originating from trigger points can be easily corrected. Ask your therapist how you may also be pro-active, with self-applied TP massage between massage sessions.
This modality may be used in combination with all sessions. Neuromuscular therapy specifically addresses trigger points and the related deep-tissue work.
Treatments include complimentary Aromatherapy, Hot Stone Therapy and Sinus/Mini Facial, and start at $75.00.
